  4. At the Nurembuerg Trial, (he) was accused of participating directly in
  5. the deportation and shooting of hostages. In his final statement to
  6. the Tribunal he admitted the "fearful excesses" of the Nazi regime and
  7. stated that he must take responsibility in part for what had happened.
  8. (He) was hanged on October 16, 1946.
